When you message Armando on WhatsApp, we collect:
- Your WhatsApp phone number, used to identify your account and reply to you.
- Information you tell us directly, such as your name and the type of business you run.
- The content of the messages you send us, including text messages, photos of receipts or invoices, and voice notes.
- Transaction information extracted from those messages — amounts, dates, categories, merchant names, and whether something is income or an expense.
We do not access your contacts, other WhatsApp conversations, or any part of your phone beyond what you send directly to Armando.
We use the information above only to operate the Armando service:
- To record and organize your business's income and expenses;
- To reply to you on WhatsApp, including weekly summaries;
- To read receipts, invoices, and messages you send so we can extract the relevant transaction details;
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the accuracy of the service.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to show you ads.
We share information with a small number of service providers who help us run Armando, and only as needed for them to provide that service to us:
- Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform — used to send and receive your WhatsApp messages. Meta's own privacy policy governs how WhatsApp handles message transport.
- OpenAI — text and receipt images you send are processed by OpenAI's API to extract transaction details (amount, category, merchant, etc.). This data is sent to OpenAI solely to generate that response and, per OpenAI's API terms, is not used to train their models.
- Our hosting and database providers — used to run the service and store your data securely.
We do not share your information with any other third party, except where required by law.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so that Armando can keep an accurate record of your business's finances. If you ask us to delete your data (see below), we will do so, except where we're required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.
You can ask us at any time to:
- Send you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data and account.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Armando is a business tool intended for adults running a business. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children.
We may update this policy as Armando changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
